Systems Architecture refers to the way components of a computer system are put together. When we say components, we refer to servers and programs running on these servers. There are many ways of assembling these components ... this is discussed in this lecture.

The book by Nicklaus Wirth is one of the classics of Computer Science. It refers to the fundamental division between algorithms and data structures as the basis of all computer programs. This same dichotomy is reflected in the way we refer to Application Systems and Database Systems
